Pacific Register
of Ships (PRS) is an incorporated company in Papua New Guinea (PNG)
that works in partnership with the Pacific Government and actively
supports their Maritime Authorities in their endeavors to improve
maritime safety at all levels. We achieve this by:
improving safety standards
promoting the reliability of shipping
improving local skills
reducing costs to local ship owners
decreasing the amount of maritime related revenue currently
going overseas.
Our company is a Recognised Organisation prudent to IMO Resolution
A.739 (18) by both the PNG Government and the Government of Tonga
and is made up of various shareholders including the PNG Government,
industry representatives and PRS management.
It is the aim of the Company to gain recognition
from other Governments in the Pacific region. In this regard we are
in discussion with several Governments in the region.
