Pacific Register
of Ships developed Rules for the classification of ships on it's
register. The Rules give the requirements for the assignment and
the maintenance of classification for seagoing vessels. These rules
have been developed to fit the profile of rules in the Pacific Region.
The classification of vessels not dealt with in the Rules is covered
by specific Rules published by the Society as needed.
The Rules of Pacific Register of Ships, unless otherwise stated,
form the minimum standard accepted by the Society. The Rules are
not intended to prevent an owner or interested party from implementing
a higher standard to any vessel or component on the vessel.
These Rules have a date of coming into effect of 1 January 2008.
